The advantages of
CHOPSTAR 3-60

Strong frame for maximum durability

The stable machine frame, to which the hoeing parallelograms are attached, is available in a rigid version or with a hydraulically foldable design up to a width of 19 m / 62 ft. The special Einböck profiled tube allows for quick and easy mounting of the hoeing elements. The special frame shape and design ensures maximum durability and an exact fit. In addition, different row distances can be quickly and infinitely adjusted. The ROW-GUARD camera steering system can be mounted on all frames as well.

  1. Front frame for rigid machines
  2. Rear frame for rigid machines with upper link steering
  3. Frame folded hydraulically (rear with upper link steering)
  4. Rear double folding frame up to 12 m / 40 ft
  5. Rear double folding frame and wide middle frame up to 19 m / 62 ft
  6. Special frame

Elongated parallelograms

The wide parallelogramms are equipped with retraction support and durable Farmflex feeler wheels. Furthermore they can be adjusted in the joints, this guarantees a high (side)stability and accuracy after many years of use. The long parallelogramms provide enough space to compensate unevenness of the fields on each element, on hills or pans.

  1. The parallelogramm is fixed with a clamping lever to the frame
  2. Parallelogramm for front-mounted machines
  3. Parallelogramm for rear-mounted machines

Individual equipment of hoeing elements

The hoeing section for a row distance up to 60 cm / 24″ is equipped with up to 3 tines per element. This element is designed e.g. for beets, soybeans, field beans, or rapeseed. Even when working in shallow working depth the vibro tines ensure perfect weed control by cutting the full surface in between the crop rows. Protection elements are responsible to protect the plants from spilling (especially in early crop stage).

Arrangement of the hoeing elements - Retraction support of the parallelogram

With the tine hoeing elements (e.g. beet, soybeans, field bean, corn, etc.) from 30 cm / 11.80″ row spacing, the hoeing element is placed “under” the elongated parallelogram. It´s advantage is that the hoeing elements and tines are pulled in better even in soils with heavy crusts and hard soils. Due to the long parallelogram, less pressure is needed to push in the tines as if the hoeing elements would be placed “behind” the parallelogram. In addition, an adjustable retraction spring guarantees that the hoeing element gets pushed into the soil and maintains the set working depth.

Design of the finger weeders

The finger weeders, which are available as additional option, are used to break up the unworked hoeing belt (area very close to and between the crop plants) and to control weeds in early growth stage. The two stars of the finger weeder are placed parallel on both sides of the row and they are mounted on a separate, spring loaded holder. This ensures excellent adaption to the soil and perfect guidance of the finger weeder – without damaging the crop and especially the roots.

Continuously variable adjustment of the working depth

The working depth of the hoeing section is continuously variable adjustable with a spindle on the depth control wheel. So the working depth of the hoeing tool can be adjusted to the millimetre and it is perfectly maintained during operation. A scale shows the actual adjustment. Each parallelogramm should be adjusted individually, because e.g. the tracks behind the tractor wheels should be hoed deeper in order to break them up.

High penetration force of hoeing elements

All Einböck row-crop cultivator parallelograms are fitted with three-step adjustable retraction spring as standard. These ensure that the hoeing tools penetrate better, even in heavily crusted soils, and enable higher working speeds without the elements vibrating or jumping.

Automatic upper link steering

Rear-mounted row-crop cultivators come standard with an automatic upper link steering system. This ensures exact hoeing, also on hills and bends. The row-crop cultivator is guided exactly behind the tractor, even if there are a lot of bends. The cultivator is steered via the upper link of the 3-point hitch by metal gauge-wheels, therefore the machine is used with position control on the 3-point linkage.

Gauge wheels on implements with upper link steering

The gauge wheels ensure perfect guidance of the hoe and stability at hilly conditions. The tractor’s front wheels are not relieved of load, as the weight of the machine is carried by the gauge wheels. Especially on hilly conditions, the gauge wheels help prevent the implement from drifting. Scrapers ensure that the gauge wheels do not become clogged.

Pushed sections on front mounted machine

The front-mounted row-crop cultivator can be used without an extra front mounting support as the elements are strong enough to be operated in pushed position. This results in the row-crop cultivator being mounted very closely to the tractor, which has following advantages:

  • Less side pull when working in hills
  • More exact adaption of each separate element because the Farmflex-wheels are running in front of the element
  • Reduced weight to reduce soil compaction
  • Short distance between cultiavator and front axle, therefore higher precision in steering
  • Advantage when driving bends during operation, as well as road transport
  • Better visual control during operation and also road transport
  • There is a front mounting support available as an option in case needed (e.g. for ROLLSTAR row-crop cultivators)
High frame clearance

A frame clearance up to 70 cm / 28″ makes working in bigger crops like corn, sunflowers, etc. possible. So efficient and careful hoeing / ridging up in late growth stage does not cause any problem.

Individual accessories

The right options for
CHOPSTAR 3-60

Hydraulic lifting SECTION-CONTROL

The section has a lifting height of up to 35 cm / 14″ (depending on the machine configuration and soil conditions) and can automatically be controlled by GPS via SECTION-CONTROL, or manually by switches. Lifting the sections ensures no crop is damaged at the headlands when the fields are not square. This option is especially recommended for contractors or farms with a lot of misshaped fields.

Finger & rotative weeder

The finger weeders (also called finger hoes) or the rotative weeder elements pull out or spill weeds between the plants. In this way, the unworked hoeing area is worked and thus the crop is additionally “cleaned”.

To finger & rotative weeder

Automatic sideshift frame

A ROW-GUARD camera-guided sideshift frame can be mounted to each row-crop cultivator, also retro-fitted.

Adjustable weeder tines

Adjustable weeder tines can be mounted for pulling weeds to the surface and ensure they dry out. They clean the roots of the weeds from soil and at the same time they slightly level the cultivated ares. The outer tines on the element can be exchanged to direct the earth flow either to or away from the crop row (principle of torsion weeder). This also enables a slight hilling effect.

Hilling discs or elements

For some crops precise and effective hilling is necessary. This is possible with these hilling discs or elements which can be very precisely adjusted (e.g. for corn, soybean, sunflower).

Seeding box to distribute cover crops or fertilizer

The pneumatic seeding box P-BOX or the front tank JUMBO-SEED can be optionally combined with the row-crop cultivator. These can be used to apply under-seeds or fertilizers during hoeing.

Band spraying

The JUMBO-STREAM front tank for liquids offers efficient solutions for combined weed control. In combination with the proven CHOPSTAR-PRIME row-crop cultivator, the front tank enables effective mechanical weed control that includes hoeing and simultaneous band spraying or fertilizing.

Air feeler wheel

For professional and precise work of the jockey wheel even on light soils, pneumatic wheels (instead of the standard Farmflex jockey wheels) are available as an option. These ensure that the desired working depth is maintained in very light or sandy soils thanks to a wider tread.

Manual hydraulic steering

In order to increase the precision of a row-crop cultivator without camera steering or to reduce the width of the hoeing belt, a manual hydraulic steering is optionally available. This accessory allows a person to steer the row-crop cultivator independently from the tractor. The seat is positioned so that the best view on the crop row is guaranteed. The steering is hydraulically operated, so that even longer hoeing operations can be done.
