The grassland season started!

Start the grassland season full of energy!

Many stress factors bring the grassland to its limits. The increasing temperature or pests are affecting the quality of the grassland. But the right technology and the right measures will help you to regain energetic grassland, increase your yield and the quality of your silage.

Simple levelling is not enough

Quick operations for high yields? That's not enough! Simple levelling is not enough for a high grassland-yield. Dead and shallow-rooted weeds, as well as moss, should be removed. Snow mould must be taken out and mice- and molehills should be levelled. Damages to the turf, e.g. trampling damage, require reseeding.

Climate changes demand measures

The nature adapts to climate change. Now it is about time to align your grassland operations to these changed conditions. To continue successful production and high yield your grassland needs reseeding with seeds adapted to climate, location and use.

Frequent mowing (4 - 6 cuts per year) prevents a natural re-seeding like when producing hay. The seed potential of the meadow is reduced. Grassland renovation requires intensive work and a few passes, but it will be very beneficial. In addition, professional grassland maintenance should be carried out annually to keep or increase the quality of your pasture.

Do you rely on successful grassland maintenance?

Then the Pneumaticstar range is the right technology for you! With a narrow line spacing of 2.5 cm and a tine diameter of up to 10 mm, a lot of material can be weeded out. In addition to dead grasses and moss, shallow rooting weeds like rough stalked meadow grass are controlled as well. Perfect levelling of the molehills can be achieved with the front levelling plate. The „on-hold“-position scrapes the hills and spreads the material ideally in the grass turf. The soil pores keep open and do not get smeared. This ensures best conditions for germination for the distributed seeds.

Pressure rolls?

We are convinced combination of harrow and roller in one machine is not an ideal solution. Different working speed of the 2 machines make an integration of a roller in the weeder not ideal.

In addition, a combination would result in pressing removed weeds (e.g. rough stalked meadow grass) to the ground again, what would prevent them from drying out and result that they continue to grow. What is more, in humid conditions, soil adheres to the roller what makes distributed seeds stick to it.

The grassland weeders PNEUMATICSTAR ideally recondition the soil surface. The turf is opened and an optimal seedbed for the seeds is prepared. This optimal seedbed provides best conditions for perfect seed emergence.

If a reseeding or new sowing is necessary in worked ground (because of frost damage, wild boar – or mice damage or any similar reason) the reseeding and rolling should be carried out in two separate operations. Using heavy rollers with a low driving speed ensures the best effect and establishes good seed to soil contact. The compaction of the loosened soil creates a capillary effect to supply the seeds with water.

Ideal grassland care:

Dead grass and shallow-rooting weeds are removed; seeds are distributed and molehills are ideally levelled with the front levelling plates. Further advantages of the PNEUMATICSTAR's!
