The advantages of
PNEUMATICSTAR-STI

Great flexibility of use

Just a few examples of the various ways you can use the machines: re- or new seeding in grassland (1), underseeding in cereals (2) or corn (3), etc.

Perfect for under- or reseeding

The pneumatic seeders with integrated stirring-shaft are designed in such a way that each sowing tube has its own seeding wheel section to achieve perfect dosing and uniform output. For working widths wider than 6 m / 20 ft. the seeding hoses are split to reach 12 or 16 outlets. Machines up to 6 m / 20 ft. working width are standard equipped with an electric double fan. Bigger machines work with a mechanical fan as standard. A hydraulic fan is available as an option.

Electrical quantity dosage

The grassland seeder PNEUMATICSTAR-STI is equipped with the pneumatic seeder P-BOX-STI as standard. This is a pneumatic airseeder with electrical adjustment of the seeding amount. The user-friendly SPEED-TRONIC terminal regulates the seed quantity depending on the actual working speed. The necessary speed info can be obtained via several sensors or via the 7-pole signal plug of the tractor.

The advantages of the P-BOX-STI

Deflector plates are mounted centrally on the tine sections

The deflector plates with splash-guard are placed in the centre of each tine section. They spread the seeds before the last two rows of tine sections to establish optimal seed to soil contact.

Exact line spacing of of 2.5 cm

The line spacing of exact 2.5 cm / 1” has a significant influence on the effect and quality of the operation. Tine fields with 6-rows with 60 tines on 1.5 m / 4.9 ft. fields ensure an effective and efficient weed control. A bigger distance between the tines will leave unworked strips where weeds will continue to grow and the turf will not be aerated.

Stable operation

Due to the solid and strong frame construction the operation of machine and frame is very steady, independently from the working speed. Also on hard soil the tined weeder can apply sufficient pressure on the tines without making the frame swing. In addition, the frame is designed to withstand heavy loads and many seasons of operation without any problems.

Tine aggressivity quickly adjustable

The aggressivity of the spring loaded tines on the grassland seeder can be adjusted quickly as required via one central adjustment lever per tine section in 5 positions between ”dragging” or ”on grip” (optionally hydraulic).

Guaranteed equal tine aggressivity

The tine tube is torsion-resistant and guarantees the same tine position and the same tine aggressivity over the entire frame length. This is particularly important in hard soil conditions.

No rollers

To combine grassland weeder and rollers in one machine does not provide the desired effect. The centrally placed deflector plates ensure an even distribution of the seeds over the full working width. Furthermore, the operating speed of roller and grassland harrow do not match. In case soil gets stuck to the roller, seeds which have been distributed by the weeder get stuck on it and previously sown grass is collected from the ground again. In addition, a roller etablishes contact between previously torn out weeds (such as the rough stalked meadow grass) and the ground. So they will not dry out, but continue to grow. Especially for reseeding and grassland care, rolling is not necessary as the roller runs on the turf and has very limited contact to the soil. For new seeding rolling can be beneficial, but it should be done in a separate operation after weeds dried out and with the optimal working speed for rolling.

Technical Data

Tine 490 mm long, Ø 7 mm

This universal tine with a diameter of 7 mm / 0.28“ and a length of 490 mm / 19.3“ is optimal for middle to hard soils. With this tine length, soil unevenness can be perfectly compensated. (standard equipment)

Exact tine position and movement

The harrow tines are mounted to the harrow sections by plastic tine holders to ensure an exact tine position in driving direction. The spring coil of the tine is mounted below the tine holder to ensure free movement and vibration of the tine. In addition, the tines clean themselves due to the constant movement. A breakage of the tine is almost impossible, because the movement of the tine is not limited or restricted.

Tine section holders protected by plastic

Hard plastic protection at the connection between the tine section and its holders prevents wear of the steel components and ensures that they do not harm each other. They also ensure good guidance of the tine section, while still allowing adjustment to the terrain.

Rubber support wheels for gently operation

Depending on the working width, the grassland- and reseeding weeders are guided by two or four rubber support wheels. Via the support wheels the working depth of the tines is regulated. They are height-adjustable in the half-hole grid.

Stop bar for perfect soil adaption

By taking away or demounting the stop bar on the wing (only on machines without shear folding) the machine follows the contours of the land surface perfectly.

Stronger construction

A larger working width means greater forces acting on a machine. The triangular bracing on machines with shear folding prevents the side wings from swinging and jumping even at higher working speeds. The tine aggressivity can be adjusted depending on the conditions.

Compact Retraction

Due to the hydraulic folding and/or pivoting of the lateral sections, all working widths remain under the maximum permissible transport width of 3 m / 9.8 ft. On machines with a working width between 4.5 to 9 m / 14.8 to 29.5 ft, the side wings are folded upwards. 9 m / 29.5 ft. machines can be equipped with a double-fold system and a heavy-duty construction, from 12 m / 39.4 ft. this is standard. On all versions a hitching very closely to the tractor is ensured. A reinforced frame is available for the 600, 900 & 1200 models.

Mechanical locking in transport position

Frames on machines without shear folding lock mechanically in transport position. The lock is released via a pulling-rope. (only on machines without shear folding)

The right options for
PNEUMATICSTAR-STI

Hydraulic tine adjustment

The hydraulic tine adjustment makes adjustment to the GRASS-MANAGER in changing soil conditions easier. Furthermore, folding to the transport position is more convenient as you can easily put the tines into a flat position. The hydraulic tine adjustment can be retrofitted any time.

Levelling plate

In front of the weeder sections a levelling plate can be mounted, which is overload-protected by a leaf spring. This levelling plate is height adjustable and ensures an excellent distribution and levelling of mole hills. In addition, it distributes and levels manure and slurry. (Only up to 6 m / 19.7 ft. working width and for 900 SR and 1200 SR)

Tines 490 mm long, Ø 10 mm

For heavily weeded areas and stony soils, in order not to necessarily deposit the stones on the soil surface, we recommend these straight tines with a diameter of 10 mm / 0.39″ and a length of 490 mm / 19.3″. “Dragging” tines are gentle on the turf in wet or boggy grassland. (Only available for frame version SR & PRO)

Tine 490 mm long, Ø 8 mm (recommended)

In case of middle matted grassland or middle soil conditions, the tines with a diameter of 8 mm / 0.31″ and a length of 490 mm / 19.3″ are preferable. These tines are also the most used.

Tine 490 mm long STRAIGHT, Ø 8 mm

For stony soil, in order not to bring stones to the surface, we recommend the straight tines with a diameter of 8 mm / 0.31” and a length of 490 mm / 19.3”. Tines adjusted “dragging“ protect the turf in wet grassland.

Warning signs

Warning signs with holder and LED-lights are available to the front as well as to the rear.
