The advantages of
TAIFUN

A real "all-rounder" - the TAIFUN blade cultivator

  • Incorporation of catch crops: Full-surface, clean and flat undercutting of winter-hard or non winter-hard catch crops (cover crops, intercrops; greenings) as well as perfect uprooting.
  • Seedbed preparation: A perfect structure of coarse and fine soil ensures ideal conditions for germination, as well as a safe and uniform emergence.
  • Stubble cultivation: An ultra-flat stubble cultivation and scalping of the whole surface, stimulates lost crop seeds to germinate.
  • Seeding of catch crops: With the second cultivation, catch crops can be sown simultaneously using the pneumatic seeding box P-BOX.
  • Regulation of deep rooting and seed weeds – “glyphosate replacement”.
  • Incorporation of slurry, “fake” seedbed, and much more.

Overlapping duckfoot sweeps = across the whole working width

If a full width cutting of the soil is requested, optionally available duckfoot sweeps provide the necessary overlap at a line spacing of 15 cm / 5.90″. For example, the 200 mm / 7.87″ sweeps guarantee an overlap of 50 mm / 1.97″ (33.3 %) (see graphic). There are also 240 mm / 9.45″ duckfoot sweeps with an overlap of 90 mm / 3.54″ available. Due to this generous overlap the whole field is cultivated during shallow operation and emerged weeds are mechanically regulated.

Big frame clearance

The big frame clearance (up to 580 mm / 22.83″) guarantees clog free working and a perfect work result even in a big amount of organic matter.

100 % even tine distribution

An even tine distribution ensures work without clogging, a cutting of the full surface and a smooth tensile behaviour.

Detailed solutions for practical working and durability

  • Tube-in-tube construction: The tube-in-tube construction of the frame guarantees durability and stability.
  • 2 folding cylinders: Two folding cylinders provide a triangular strut and even folding on both sides. This is useful in hilly terrain. Both cylinders are latched by lock-blocks.
  • Greasable joints with hardened bushings
  • Lower links and upper links with rotation locks and hardened bushings

Tool-free adjustable and spring-mounted double drag tines (standard equipment)

Double drag tines guarantee an even levelling between the last row of tines and the rear rollers or weeder tines. This is an advantage because the rear roller can evenly recompact the soil contact over the entire working width. They can be dismounted without tools and kept safe directly on the frame.

Carbide metal sweeps for Herkules tines offer a lot of advantages

  • The sweeps remain longer in their usual shape, resulting in a precise cut and good move even on dry ground
  • Service life is considerably increased – especially in soil conditions with above-average wear
  • Less traction required due to sharp sweep tips
  • Time saving due to unnecessary changes of sweeps
Well thought out in every detail

Technical Data

Spring-loaded tines

Spring-loaded tines are characterized by the best mixing, self-cleaning and uprooting of the weed root. Thanks to the vibration effect, they are also less susceptible to clogging than rigid tines. They also create an optimum soil structure with an ideal proportion of fine and coarse soil during seedbed preparation.

Spring Tine VULCANUS 50 x 13 mm / 1.97x0.51", clearance 525 mm / 20.67"

The spring tine VULCANUS (standard equipment) is made from 50 x 13 mm / 1.97×0.51″ spring steel. The frame clearance is 525 mm / 20.67″. The spring tine is for light up to medium-heavy soil and for seedbed preparation after ploughing. For this operation duckfoot sweeps can be mounted optionally. The strong spring tine VULCANUS, made from high-quality spring steel, which is mounted on four beams, is designed for long service life.

  • Narrow share: The narrow share (standard equipment) is 53 mm / 2.09″ wide and is recommended for operations deeper than 10 cm / 3.90″.
  • Duckfoot sweep: The duckfoot sweep with a width of 200 mm / 7.87″ is suitable for full area cutting in low depth.

Working depth precisely adjustable

The working depth of the blade cultivator can be adjusted via bread board on the parallel guided trailed weeder tines. Additionaly the working pressure of each roller or the angle of the trailed weeder tines to the soil can be adjusted with a spindle. All the pressure is on the rear roller. The machine works very calmly because all the weight of the cultivator is on the rear roller unit.

F: Flat rod crumbler ø 400 mm und following weeder tines 2 rows ø 10 mm

Good crumbling on medium soil

R: Round rod crumbler ø 400 mm & following weeder tines 2 rows ø 10 mm

Good crumbling on medium soil and good load capacity on light soil

FZ: Flat rod crumbler ø 400 mm & serrated crumbler ø 320 mm & following weeder tines 2 rows ø 10 mm

Good crumbling on heavy soil

RZ: Round rod crumbler ø 400 mm & serrated crumbler ø 320 mm & following weeder tines 2 rows ø 10 mm

Good crumbling on medium to heavy soil, good load capacity on sandy soil

RP47: Ring packer roller ø 470 mm with spring stripper & following weeder tines 2 rows ø 10 mm

The wedge-shaped reconsolidation roller compacts the soil in deeper areas and closes all cavities while the topsoil stays loose and is finely crumbled. Its high load capacity makes it suitable for all different types of soil. Spring scrapers between the rings help to avoid blockage.

ST: Following weeder tines 1 row ø 12 mm incl. rubber support wheels (18x8,5-8)

If you want to work without a rear roller, you can simply use following weeder tines instead. The working depth is then adjusted via 4 rubber support wheels (2 for rigid machines).

The right options for
TAIFUN

Spring Tine HERKULES 70x12 mm / 2.76x0.47", frame clearance 580 mm / 22.83"

The optional spring tine HERKULES is made of 70×12 mm / 2.76×0.47″ material, at a frame clearance of 580 mm / 22.83″. The tine is recommended for heavy, but also stony soils, for seedbed preparation. For this operation a use of duckfoot sweeps is also possible. The sweep is mounted with two bolts, this is a big advantage in stony and heavy conditions.

Double spring for HERKULES tine

A double or reinforcing spring with wedge is optionally available for the HERKULES tine. This extra spring ensures that a constant working depth is maintained, especially with flat tillage. The reinforcing spring wedges itself into the HERKULES tine with even the slightest pre-tension, thus reducing the lateral movement of the tines. The vibrating effect of the spring loaded tines is retained. The double or reinforcing spring is particularly recommended for hard, heavy soils.

Sweeps made of carbide metal for Herkules tines

The sweeps made of carbide metal for Herkules tines are optionally available as duckfoot sweeps 220 mm / 8.66” and as narrow shares 53 mm / 2.09”. The application of carbide metal plates and the special geometry of these sweeps increase the operating time and reduce wear.

Pneumatic seeding box P-BOX-STI

The P-BOX-STI seeding box can be mounted on the blade cultivator for easy and simultaneous seeding of catch crops. It is electrically driven and operated from the tractor cab via the SPEED-TRONIC terminal. Suitable steps for filling are available as an option.

Pivoting sideplate

The parallelogram-guided sideplate is height adjustable and foldable. It prevents ridging during seedbed preparation or while cultivating.

Levelling plate „dragging“ or „on grip“

The levelling plate is clamped on the front of the frame and can be adjusted in height through bolts. The levelling plate crushes clods, levels the soil and covers the tractor track and can be adjusted “dragging” or “on grip”. The operation of the working tools is extremely smooth and the working depth is maintained exactly. In spring the levelling plate is especially recommended for seedbed preparation.

Trailed weeder tines

The standard two-row trailed weeder on the F, R, FZ, RZ or RP 47 roller can be replaced on request by a single-row weeder.

Front support wheels

For an even smoother running and depth guidance on machines with bigger working widths (from 6 m / 19.70 ft.)

Chassis

For the TAIFUN with heavy rollers we recommend a chassis instead of the mounted version, since the heavy weight of the machine might harm the 3-point linkage of the tractor and increase soil compaction on the headland.
